I ended up grabbing the Onitsuka Tiger Ultimate 88. Immediately more comfortable of course, and my feet are super comfy in them. There is just enough arch support too, and they are very light weight. So far I like them, but the real test is the long-term.
Appreciate the suggestion everyone, otherwise I'd be lost.

Are those casual or driving shoes?

Cool! That's one of the best things about my Tigers too, they're crazy light!

They are casual/ semi-athletic shoes that are great for driving. Really comfy for driving so far.
They can be had at Journeys/foot locker, probably other stores too if you want to wear them before buying online or something.

It's really surprising how light they are. Which is good for when I need to get active.

Ah, I see. I haven't seen the appeal of driving shoes (yet), but I really do like the shape of these. Post an update on these after five-twelve months?

If you've ever had an experience with shoes that were lousy for driving you can probably see the appeal of driving shoes.

Haha yup, all the good reviews from the jalops were trustworthy to me. They are certainly comfortable and lightweight, very nice. I just hope they hold up with the comfort in the long run.

Mine have, and I hope yours do.

I will do my best to remember to give the update in the long term. As "D" said, once you start driving a whole lot, proper shoes that are comfortable for driving are really important. My feet have been absolutely killing me, so I just went and bought them.

Thanks man, that's good to hear. It's nice to have a shoe that I can rely on now for comfort with pretty good styling. They are really quite nice, so I trust they will stay comfortable! I'm very happy right now hah. Comfortable feet are happy feet.

Oddly, my pair of shoes that I find best for driving are these:
I would have never guessed it, but they're just great for my kind of driving. Barely-padded soles equate to stellar pedal feel, and the broad bottoms allow me to heel-toe without twisting my foot too much. Those in a size 11.5 in the footwell of an NA Miata? Surprisingly not crowded at all.

Im on my second pair of them, very good all around. I believe I got mine off Piperlime

Yeah, the Tigers are probably not as wide at the sole for heal-toeing, but unfortunately I have an auto so it isn't much an issue until I get a new car.
The Nikes are likely nice shoes, though I didn't try them on as they are not really my style. Not sure of their comfort level, but I found the Tigers to be really good for my feet.

Never knew about that place, but foot locker price matched so I was ok with it.

I like the fit of the mexico 66 better. I do like the way the 88s look though
nothing beats good ol suede speed cats for comfy driving shoes

I have a pair of those and I love them. I've worn them almost every day for a year and the tread is starting to wear down but otherwise they're holding up really well. And they're great to drive in. You won't be disappointed.

Good to hear more long term results. Thanks man! Loving them so far

The Mexicos are nice, but didn't fit my foot as well, so I went ultimate 88. I did like those too though.
